With more than 30 years in the blue light service and over 14 years experience of working in several Acute Trusts, I have "vacumed up" a huge amount of expertise in complex working situations, incidents and various cultures,departments and factions.


Qaulified to Diploma level Loughborough university in all aspects of emergency planning, and Home Office level disaster management.


A key member of the Guildford borough council joint safety advisory group for Olympics  2012 


I ran, organised and delivered major incident exercises (Comet / 2 days duration) for the Surrey Local Resiliance Forum an exercise to involve all blue light services


Whilst at the Royal Surrey organised and ran  a huge exercise to comply with the civil contingines act and volunteer organisation including Tesco, simulating a machete attack in one of their stores. This exercise involved the police and ambulance helicopters.

  • Responsible for assessing current / future risks, planning for impact and determining solution. Debriefing and using the learning points in subsequent training exercises for operational staff
  • Focal point for other emergency services and Local Authorities, initiating mobilisations with focus on public safety. Working with partners in and across all aspects of the Local Resilience Forum.
  • Olympics planning panel member representing Acutes
  • Developed a strategy agreeable to the Royal Surrey Hospital stakeholders and partners
  • Responsible for holding major incident live exercise every 3 years for the Trust
  • Responsible for highly successful bespoke training for ED and Ed consultants
  • Responsible for CBRN and Remove training at RSCH community sites.
  • Responsible for numerous bespoke training to Gold, Silver, Bronze leaders by way of Emergo Train
  • All Home office and Police college qualifications in emergency planning
  • Radio / Bleep Expertise with Motorola / Hytera / Icom and Multitone
  • Running over 90 radio channels in the pandemic for one Trust

  • Developed and designed various training courses bespoke to the requirements of fire training and total evacuation of a 3 story hospital building.
    • Qualified in Emergo (a specific training aid) I have developed a series of various scenarios to explore and probe staff awareness of evacuation and patient safety in a fire
